Free real-time price data, provided by the BATS Exchange, is available on MarketSmith stock charts. To activate the real-time feed, select BATS Exchange from the Tool Options dropdown menu at the top of the MarketSmith tool. Once selected, a green box to the right of the intraday periodicity will indicate BATS Real-Time is active. The price data is often very similar to the ‘official’ data from the major exchanges, but there can be small differences in price.
The volume information that the BATS exchange provides is much lower than the volume data from the major exchanges. Therefore, MarketSmith does not display volume information from the BATS Exchange. MarketSmith volume data is provided by IDC and is delayed 20 minutes.
