Overview

The Community features in MarketSmith give subscribers an opportunity to benefit from the experience of their peer investors. You can browse Members' screens and share your own. You can also rate, comment on, and copy other members' screens. Or, if you prefer, you can keep your research to yourself and elect not to share screens.

Sharing

To share a screen with the MarketSmith Community, select the Share button. An overlay form will appear, which will allow you to designate with whom you'd like to share your screen (the whole community? specific contacts?), enter a screen description, and apply tags so that the screen will be searchable by other members.

Copying

You can save a copy of a previously created screen (including MarketSmith screens) to which you can then apply your own criteria. Once you've found a screen that interests you, select it and click the Copy button at the top of the Screener task panel. Your copied screen will appear in an editable text field labeled "Copy of {screen name};" rename as necessary.

Finding

Search for screens created by other members. Click on Browse in the Screener task panel. You can then designate browse criteria via a series of radio buttons, checkboxes, and editable text fields. As you select search values, the List Contents will list relevant screens in an abbreviated list view. Selecting a specific screen will reveal further information about that screen, including Ratings and Comments.

To browse screens authored by the MarketSmith Education Team, select MARKETSMITH Screens below the Keyword, Tag or Author text field.

Note: you will only be able to see screens that have been designated by the author as open for viewing.

Commenting

Community broadens the MarketSmith experience, as members can share insights, charts and interpretations of market data with each other. By making comments public, subscribers can benefit from the collective experience and viewpoints of fellow members. You can also find out how others are using the tools to their advantage in their investing routines.

• You may comment on a public screen within a Screen Detail overlay page or by selecting the Comment count link below the Screen Description.
• Commenting is restricted to MarketSmith subscribers; visitors may read comments, but not contribute to them.

Rating

When a fellow Subscriber's screen is selected, you may weigh in on its usefulness or value by rating it. To rate a screen, click on the appropriate star (1 star for least and 5 stars for most appreciated) within the Screen Description.

• Your rating is indicated by the outlining of the stars, and the community's rating is shown by the filled in color of the stars.
• This functionality is only available to subscribers; visitors may view Member ratings, but not contribute to them.
