Where did it Go?

I don't see the Reports Menu. Where can I access the Reports that are available in the Reports menu in Daily Graphs Online?

The Reports located in the Daily Graphs Online Stock Charts menu are now available in the List Manager in the "Reports" folder. We also added new Reports to help you in your research and idea generation. You can either use the Spacebar or hit the or Play button to go through the Reports list. How can I access a Market Index chart?

You can draw a specific Market Index chart by entering the Market Index symbol into the symbol field. In addition, you can access a comprehensive list of Market Index charts through the List Manager under Markets/197 Industry Groups. When you have Markets Indices selected, you will see corresponding Market Indicators and Averages in List Contents. Learn More

Can I still view multiple charts at once? What about Comparison charts?

You still have multiple chart and comparison chart viewing capabilities. The two buttons shown below, located on the chart utilities bar, allow you to easily access these features.

When a new chart appears after you’ve selected the New Chart Window button, you may hit the Receive Symbols from Main Chart button. This new feature enables you to view multiple time frames at once for the same symbol as you move from stock to stock. Learn More

Where is the chart legend/image map?

The Chart Legend is available by selecting Show Chart Legend in the Tool Options dropdown menu (make sure your pop-up blocker is turned off.)

We've created additional help items for you as well. Image Maps that walk you through the different elements of the tool can be accessed through the Help icon in the upper right corner of each section.

You may also use our new Hover Help feature by selecting Yes next to the Show Hover Help option within the Tool Options. Hover help activates information and data point definitions directly on the MarketSmith interface.

Can I change the price or volume scales?

You can change the volume scale from logarithmic to arithmetic, and you can adjust the price scale to fit the range of available price action. These functions are available in the Chart Tools dropdown menu at the top right hand corner of the graph window.

How can I change the date on the chart to view the historical price and volume data?

You can change the date on a chart by using the Change Date feature located at the top of the chart window. Chart history goes as far back in time as the stock was traded. You also now have the ability to select a start date using the timeline view and advance the chart one price and volume bar at a time to see the historical progression of a stock. Learn More

How can I print charts?

To print the chart you’re viewing along with the data boxes, click on the printer symbol at the top right hand corner of the chart window.

I can't find the Industry Groups rankings? How can I find the best performing Industry Groups?

We've fully integrated Industry Groups so that you can use them seamlessly with all of the other features within MarketSmith.You can find all 197 Industry Groups under the Market/197 Industry Groups Reports in the List Manager Reports. Results like rankings will appear in List Contents where you have the flexibility to do a sort to guage the best/worst performing Industry Groups.

Selecting a group will launch the corresponding Industry Group Chart. When looking at a group chart, the Related Information Panel will give you options to do further research on Industry Groups and Sectors.

Industry Groups and Sector data that correlates to a specific stock is also available in the Related Information Panel when you are viewing that stock's chart.

Where is the Fund Center?

We've fully integrated the Fund Center so that you may be use it seamlessly with all of the other features within MarketSmith. There are a variety of Fund elements you can access throughout the tool.

Type a mutual fund symbol into the symbol field to draw a chart for that fund. When you are looking at a mutual fund chart, the Related Information Panel will provide you with fund details like Holdings, Risk and Performance.

Fund Screening is available through the screener panel to the left of the chart. You can filter through our database of funds using 82 fund-specific criteria.

Fund Center reports are located in the Reports folder in the List Manager under Mutual Funds. Results appear in List Contents.

You can find funds based on a particular stock's ownership in the Ownership section of the Related Information Panel when that stock's chart is displayed.

Where is the Options Guide?

We have fully integrated the Option Guide so you may use it seamlessly with all of the other features within MarketSmith. Options reports are available in the Reports folder in the List Manager under Options.

You can get to Options tables for optionable stocks by selecting the Options button in the Related Information Panel.

The Psychological Indicators and Economic Calendar are now available in the Related Information Panel when any Market Index chart is displayed.

Futures information and the options calculator are not available in MarketSmith.

Where is the Screen Wizard?

The Screener is available from the sliding panel that reads Screener on the left side of the chart window. This is where you can now screen for both stocks and funds using over 140 criteria items, including IBD SmartSelect® Ratings.

No more “running” the screen to update results, because screen results update dynamically in List Contents as you refine your criteria.

We’ve included new features such as the Criteria Waterfall and Benchmark Evaluator to assist you in building effective screens. Learn more about the MarketSmith screener.

Why can't I see the full chart?

MarketSmith is optimized for use with a minimum Screen Resolution setting of 1280x1024. If you are unable to view a full chart or if some data points appear to be missing, please verify your display type and Screen Resolution setting to ensure that it meets the minimum requirement.

Please note that if you are using a wide-screen display, it may not be possible to adjust your setting to 1280x1024. If this happens, you may view a complete chart with all data points by minimizing the List Panel in MarketSmith.

How do I use the Line Pen?

In order to use the Line Pen to draw a temporary line on the chart: Simply press on the “CTRL” key (“Command ⌘” in MAC), hold the left mouse button and drag your mouse to draw a line. Press the “Enter” key to erase all lines.
